US President’s National Security Adviser calls Afghan counterpart
National Security Adviser to the US President Jack Sullivan called his Afghan counterpart Hamdullah Mohib.
The national security adviser to the US president said the Biden administration would review the peace deal with the Taliban and review whether ties with the Taliban militant group had ended.
It should be noted that the US-Afghan Taliban peace agreement was signed last year under which US troops are to be withdrawn from Afghanistan by May 2021.
The Trump administration had increased the number of US troops in Afghanistan to 2,500 on the 15th of this month.
