US President Trump has signed the Malala Education Act
US President Donald Trump has signed the Malala Education Act in the name of Pakistan’s Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai.
The US House of Representatives passed the bill in March last year, but it was approved by the Senate earlier this month.
The scholarship bill was later sent to President Trump for final approval, who has now signed the act.
According to a White House statement, under the law, Pakistani women will receive 50 percent of the scholarships in the higher education scholarship program.
Pakistan’s Nobel laureate Malala has won more than 40 international awards, including the Nobel Peace Prize, Sakharov and the World Children’s Prize.
Apart from Pakistan, Malala has now become the voice of uneducated children in Africa, Syria and other regions.
Malala Yousafzai has been living in the UK since the suicide attack and is studying in the UK.
