US President approves aid for displaced Afghans
The US President has approved 100 million in aid for Afghans displaced by recent events in Afghanistan.
According to the White House, the money will be paid from the US Emergency Refugee Fund, which will help address the unforeseen needs of refugees, victims of conflict and other threats.
The fund will also help 20,000 Afghan translators who have served in the US military and are now applying for US immigration.
The aid will be distributed through international organizations, NGOs, the US government and its agencies.
