UN urges international community to continue talks with Taliban
New York: UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres says the international community should continue talks with the Taliban.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on the international community to continue talks with the Taliban, saying “we don’t know what the outcome of talks with the Taliban will be, but if we want Afghanistan not to become a center of terrorism.” If women and minorities get their rights, we have to talk to the Taliban.
“We want a coalition government in Afghanistan that includes all parts of Afghan society, but the government announced by the Taliban does not look like that. We want the rights of all people in Afghanistan,” Guterres said. Be respected and governed with peace and stability.
“There is a risk of an economic crisis in Afghanistan, so we need to stop millions of people from starving to death,” he said.
