UN General Assembly unanimously passes resolution on protection of religious sites
The UN General Assembly unanimously passed a resolution protecting religious sites around the world.
The resolution was tabled by all OIC countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Munir Akram, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said he was happy that the General Assembly had passed a resolution on the protection of religious sites.
Munir Akram says Pakistan will continue to play a leading role in condemning violent attacks on religious sites.
