TTP could attack Pakistan from Afghanistan: UN
GENEVA: A report submitted to the Security Council by a UN monitoring team warns that the banned TTP could carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan from Afghanistan.

According to the international news agency, the UN monitoring team has submitted an important report to the Security Council in which it has warned of the dangers posed to the world by Al Qaeda, ISIS and their affiliated groups.

To prepare this report, the monitoring team provided an analysis of war-torn countries and their growing militant groups, including Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, and interviewed experts, including locals, who know the militant groups closely. ۔
The monitoring team’s report also maps out the situation following the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan. In which it has been revealed that the operatives of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) who have taken refuge in Afghanistan can attack Pakistan from across the border.

The report further said that the TTP and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar were increasing their financial resources through extortion, smuggling and forced taxes, which could be a precursor to terrorism.

The contents of the report also support Pakistan’s position that TTP operatives have been granted asylum in Afghanistan and have the blessings of Prussia.

Pakistan has always given evidence of India’s aggression to the world leadership and called on the international community to play its role in stopping these acts. National Security Adviser Moeed Yousaf also provided evidence of India’s involvement in the June 23 bombing in Lahore.
