A large protest rally was held in the Russian capital, Moscow, in support of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, and a large number of police officers were deployed in the city.
According to the report, police detained at least 100 supporters of Alexei Navalny, a political opponent of President Vladimir Putin, before the rally, including Alexei Navalny’s wife.
Navalny was detained at the airport last week on his way home after five months.
