The US President has given an important responsibility to the Pakistani legislator
Washington: President Joe Biden has appointed Khidr Khan, a Pakistani national, as head of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom.

A statement from the White House said, “President Joe Biden has selected four members of the Commission on Religious Freedom.

The statement added that the US president wants to create a commission that represents people of all faiths, as the United States does.
The statement also said that Khidr Ahmed, a 71-year-old lawyer of Pakistani origin, has been selected as the commissioner of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom.

Khidr Ahmed’s son Humayun Khan was a captain in the US military and was shot dead by ISIS fighters in 2004 while stationed in Iraq.

When former President Donald Trump criticized American Muslims during the 2016 election campaign, Khidr Ahmed called Trump a shutdown in a statement recalling his son’s sacrifice.
