The United States could lose its ‘precious friend’, warns Turkish President
ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyib Erdogan has warned the United States that it could lose its precious friend if it tries to wall off its country.
In an interview with state-run TV channel TRT, Erdogan sharply criticized US President Joe Biden’s recent statement accusing the Ottoman Empire of genocide against Armenians in World War I.
Erdogan strongly condemned the allegations and rejected them, warning Biden that further deteriorating relations with Turkey could result in the loss of a valuable friend.
It should be noted that the first meeting between US President Joe Biden and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is also expected at the NATO summit on June 14 in Brussels, Belgium.
