Surprised at the noise of the US Prime Minister not being invited to the environmental summit
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed surprise over the non-invitation of the United States to the Environment Summit and said that our policies are aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change.
According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan on social networking site Twitter reacted to the US not accepting the invitation to the climate summit and said that he was surprised at the noise of not getting the invitation to the climate change conference. Imran Khan said that our initiative includes green Pakistan, 10 billion tree tsunamis and cleaning of rivers, we have 7 years of experience in climate change, Khyber. Starting from Pakhtunkhwa, our policies have been acknowledged and appreciated. If any state wants to learn from our experience, we are ready to help. The international community is serious about setting our priorities for the Climate Change Conference 2021.
US President Joe Biden has announced a virtual summit on climate change on April 22-23 and 40 world leaders have been invited.
The summit comes at a time when the United States has rejoined the Paris Agreement following the departure of former US President Donald Trump, while a UN conference on the same subject is set to take place in Glasgow in November this year.
