Second T20: South Africa avenged the defeat in the first match
South Africa defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in the second T20 match.
The three-match series ended in a 1-1 draw. Pakistan won the first match.
South Africa decided to field after winning the toss against Pakistan after which Pakistan scored 144 runs for the loss of 7 wickets while playing first.
Pakistan gave South Africa a target of 145 runs to win which South Africa easily achieved in 16.2 overs for 4 wickets. South Africa’s Reza Hendricks and Pitt Van Biljon scored 42.42, JJ Smuts 7 and Milan 4.
Playing first, Pakistan scored 144 for 7 in 20 overs thanks to a brilliant half-century by wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan.
Muhammad Rizwan was dismissed for 51 runs. Captain Babar Azam scored five runs and Haider Ali was dismissed for 10 runs. Hussain Talat returned to the pavilion after scoring three runs.
Iftikhar Ahmed 20, Khushdal Shah 15 and Mohammad Nawaz were dismissed without scoring a run. Faheem Ashraf scored 30 off 12 balls and Usman Qadir remained unbeaten on 4.
South Africa’s Divine Pretorius took 5 wickets.
