BEIJING / GENEVA: An international dialogue on “Poverty Alleviation and Rural Rehabilitation in China’s Xinjiang” was held on June 2 via a video link organized by the Chinese Mission in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China and Geneva.

Xinjiang’s Vice Chairman Elkan Tuniyaz, Ambassador of the United Nations Office in Geneva and other international organizations to Switzerland, Chun Shu, ambassadors and diplomats from more than 60 countries stationed in Geneva, as well as representatives of various international organizations and the media attended the meeting. A documentary on the Xinjiang Poverty Alleviation Campaign was shown at the meeting, and personalities from different parts of Xinjiang shared their views.
In his speech, Chun Shu said that China’s success in eradicating extreme poverty is a milestone in the field of human rights and has played a significant role in reducing poverty and protecting human rights in the world.
