Instagram has introduced the option of artificial intelligence to identify age
California: Meta Company has introduced new age identification options and tools, especially to protect young children from unpleasant online experiences. They will also use artificial intelligence or AI.
Currently, Meta has revealed two ways to determine a person’s age, with users having to submit proof of their identity online.
“When we find 13- to 17-year-old users, we shorten their scope by taking appropriate measures, including keeping the account private, reducing unnecessary conversations with adults and accessing ads,” Meta said. Said Erica Finkel, head of data governance.
However, the experiment has been released in the United States and will probably be extended to other countries later.
Instagram has contacted a company called UT, which also verifies the age of online users. Similarly, when users under the age of 18 upload their videos or selfies on Instagram, UT’s Artificial Intelligence program will estimate age by looking at facial features. This process will also include artificial intelligence and deep learning. If the user is under 18, UT and Meta will automatically remove the image or video. Click to Instant Famous.
The second option is that the user will find out the age of the three mutual friends and will be supervised by someone at least 18 years old.
Last year, Instagram announced the launch of its unique app for children, which was heavily criticized. Instagram said that parents’ consent was required for Instagram Kids and only clean, ad-free content was displayed. But it was nevertheless strongly criticized by human rights groups.
