Indian army chief admits to suffering from depression
Indian Army Chief General Manoj Makand Nirvana admitted that he was suffering from depression.
A recent report by the USI, a joint think tank of the three armies of India, has revealed that half of India’s 1.3 million troops are suffering from severe mental stress.
Between 2008 and 2020, more than 1,900 Indian soldiers lost their lives.
Commenting on the report, Indian Army Chief General Manoj Makand Nirvana also admitted that he was suffering from depression.
Talking to media, General MM Nirvana admitted that he was also under pressure but later the Indian Army Chief said to hide his embarrassment that stress is not bad, being stressed also does a good job.
He added that several steps have been taken to deal with stress
