India supports making cricket part of the Olympic Games
New Delhi: The Indian Cricket Board (ICB) has backed the inclusion of cricket in the Olympic Games.
According to a foreign news agency, the ICC has called for the inclusion of the T20 format in the 2028 Olympic Games. It should be noted that cricket was earlier included in the Olympic Games held in Paris in 1900.
Earlier, the BCCI had opposed the inclusion of cricket in the Olympic Games, saying that if that happened, it would lose its sovereignty and would have to answer to the Olympic Committee.
However, the Indian Cricket Board has now changed its stance. BCCI officials say all aspects of cricket’s participation in the Olympic Games are being considered.
