How To Do Sewer Relining

If your sewer lines have gotten really old or if they have broken from various places then it’s about time that you contact drain cleaning services to reline your sewer pipes so that you get rid of daily drainpipes issues. Below is explained how sewer relining is actually done;

  1. Inspect the Pipelines

It is the foremost thing that professional plumbers from drain cleaning services do because first gripping the cause of drain issues is very important before starting off any process. If you are doing the relining yourself then first try to find the main issue with the pipe and then move to the further steps. However, to know this, you can use drain cleaning cameras and check the condition of the sewer and drainpipes. Once you have found what is actually wrong with the sewer pipe, you can then decide whether the pipe is ready to be relined or you should have to prepare it first for it.

  1. Clean the Obstructed Pipes

While checking the pipe from inside, if you notice any blockage in it such as; contaminants or larger intrusions, use robotic cutters to eliminate them. Robotic cutters are also used by the workers from sewer cleaning services to clean the pipes from larger debris. Robotic cutters are very sharp and can cut pretty solid things even concrete and steel.

  1. Check Whether Or Not the Pipe Is Ready To Be Relined

Once the larger and solid contaminants have been cut, a highly pressurized hydro-jet equipment is used to drain out the debris and clean the pipe. It also helps to remove other debris (if present in the pipe). After hydro-jetting the pipe, cameras are again sent into the sewer lines for the final checking of the pipelines and to make sure that every single particle of contaminants has been removed and the pipe is now ready for relining.

After the final checking, you should now decide how much total lining should be prepared for the sewer pipes relining process. If you can’t handle this process yourself then you can seek help from the professionals from sewer cleaning services to look into the matter.

  1. Time to Prepare the Lining

Measure the total length of the lining that is needed to be inserted. A mixture of epoxy resin and the hardening agent is poured inside the lining and rolled several times so that the mixture is distributed all around the liner evenly and is soaked into its material. Usually, inversion pipe relining is used by the experts of drain cleaning services for sewer relining.

  1. Implanting the New Lining

Once the lining is prepared, it’s time to insert it inside the sewer pipe. However, inversion pipes which are mostly used for this purpose are generally inserted using an inversion drum. This inversion drum blows the liner into the sewer pipe using compressed air. Inversion drum along with blowing the liner inside, inverts it inside out hence called “Inversion drum”. The lining is inverted so that the resin mixture that was impregnated on the inside walls becomes the outer walls and stick to the original pipe.
