Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has funded a German technology company that makes ‘fly taxis’.
According to a report by a foreign news agency, the state has funded a company called Lelim which is making flying taxis. The Future Investment Initiative Institute invested.
According to the report, the German company is building a ship-like taxi called Electric Vehicle Take Off and Landing which will use electric power to take off, fly in the air and land.
Electric-powered taxis (lilam jets) will allow passengers to travel from one city to another without getting stuck in traffic. The ship-like taxi will have the capacity to cover a distance of 250 km.
The seven-seater Lilam Jet will be the first model to go into production.
The speed of the taxi developed by the technology company will be 175 miles per hour. Richard Atias, CEO of the investment company, said the project would have a positive impact on the travel world.
