British PM demands permanent release of Iranian-born Nazneen
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has demanded the immediate and permanent release of Nazneen Zaghari Ratcliffe, a British woman of Iranian descent.
Nazneen Zaghari Ratcliffe, a British woman of Iranian descent arrested in Iran, has been acquitted, but after her release, Nazneen was summoned by a court on March 14 on another charge.
Nazneen’s family said they did not know the purpose of the retrial. Nazneen, 42, was released five years later.
Nazneen was released from prison last year and placed under house arrest in Tehran due to a corona virus outbreak.
Nazneen Zaghari, a project manager at the Thomson Reuters Foundation, was arrested at Tehran Airport in April 2016, was later charged with attempting to overthrow the government and was sentenced by a court to five years in prison.
