Before the US President was sworn in, Washington’s Red Zone became a military base
Washington DC’s red zone looks like a military barracks ahead of the inauguration of the newly elected US president.
Biden’s swearing-in ceremony will take place tomorrow, with roads in the US capital already deserted, barricades and barbed wire everywhere, and large numbers of National Guards deployed.
Armed attacks are feared across the United States on the eve of the ceremony, and National Guards have been deployed in several states in response.
Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller says there is no intelligence about an internal attack by security personnel at the swearing-in ceremony.
Pro-Trump activists took to the streets in some US states yesterday, but security forces outnumbered protesters.
